Mr Lee Hsien Yang puts up for his posts for Singaporeans to read. He talks about trust, and governance. He is a member of the PSP.
He receives lawyers’ letters from two Ministers – saying that he has defamed them. They say they will sue unless he apologises and withdraws his allegations.
What does he do? He puts up another post, saying he didn’t make the allegations.
He says sue me in the UK.
But his post was on Singapore and meant for Singaporeans. Not meant for British public.
Since he is giving his views to Singaporeans, why does he not want to defend them in Singapore?
And suddenly he doesn’t want to say exactly what his post meant- whereas previously he was doubling down on what he said?
He ran away from Singapore because he didn’t want to explain why the courts said that he had lied on oath.
After he and his wife had misled his father, the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew , into signing a will, under which he got a lot of money.
That doesn’t mean that any action must be wherever he has absconded to.
